Tips: Where frequency as low as 20 Hz or 10 Hz are used normally?
At 20 Hz and lower they are usually used for mining excavators (rotation). To rotate the higher structure of a mining excavator, it's used two or three motors (that's depends of excavator) runs by variable frequency drives (could be one drive or each motor have a drive and optical fiber communication to coordinate between the drives). The rotation of excavator are in steps and the steps are generally between 10 (15) Hz until 50 (60) Hz (generally there are 5 steps 10-20-30-40-50Hz- but in tests the final/realistic decision its taken).
The operator of excavator work between the second speed (20 Hz) and the penultimate speed (40 Hz) - he can stay in 20 Hz long period if the excavated earth is hard/rough. If not he can run in the 3 or 4 speed. All the speeds are used without problems.
Example for low than 10 Hz frequency: In special situations, the displacement of mining excavators can be done at 5 Hz (or around) but not for a long period. They need to do that in case of skating at the lower normal step/speed (if it's raining a lot the land can be difficult). The displacement could have also 5 speeds similar of rotation as values.
